Changes to Citizenship laws

Changes to Citizenship laws introduced into Parliament on Thursday, 15 June 2017 according to minister for immigration and border protection.

Key changes in the bill include;
– Residence as permanent resident from 1 year to 4 years.
– Stand-alone English test competent R,W, L and S
– Strengthening the citizenship test with understanding of and commitment to our shared values and responsibilities.
– Need to show their integration into the Australian community

It says in the media release “It’s time for Bill Shorten to put Australians first and stand up to the left of the Labor Party and support this important Bill.”

Is putting Australians first and support this bill goes together?
